Have You Checked In With Yourself?

Updated: Nov 14, 2022

Hey y'all, how y'all doing? Y'all alright? I'd love a real answer. Anyone need prayer? I'm happy to pray for and with you. I love you enough to do that. Right now, I wanted to check in and have a transparent moment. Everything isn't everybody's business. I'm a firm believer that just because someone wants to know doesn't mean that I owe an explanation. There's a time for everything though, so with that being said I'm compelled to share a smidge to hopefully make at least one person feel like he or she isn't alone. Website and social media approved pictures don't always show the whole story. Let's dive in, shall we? Life has been all over the place for me. Some days I don't know if I'm coming or going. I'm beginning to see fruit sprout from seeds planted seven years ago. It's exciting but also mad intimidating and, in many ways it's uncertain. I don't know about you but uncertainty is either thrilling or terrifying! Thank God my trust is in Him not myself cause baby! I've also had some losses, some are harder to accept than others. Some days I may not be as aight as I say. If I'm honest, there's one personal loss in particular that's quite arduous to digest. That's saying it lightly. I really wanted that to be a win. I almost thought I deserved that win. The thing about going all in and still losing is that no one can ever say you didn't try. Yes, it sucks. Losing is whack! BOOOOOO! Let's be honest, but it removes some of the thoughts of should've, could've, and would've. Losing reveals a lot about yourself, areas of success, growth, room for improvement, etc. It doesn't feel good to lose. We get that, but let's try to see the bigger picture for one second. Just try. Now imagine continuing to go all in and then BOOM it's the right _________. Can you picture the euphoria and taste how delicious it will be? Imagine finding your purpose, your passion project, meeting your spouse, exceling at a new hobby, finding your happy place, etc. Imagine how you'll see those losses in retrospect when you push beyond that hurt and live intentionally with little to no regrets? If you're dealing with a loss or perceived failure, it's okay to feel how you feel but don't stay there too long. I'm talking to myself too, yall. Move forward by any means necessary and walk in your purpose. It takes rain but there will be sunshine again. If no one has shown you, I love you but God loves you better. Be blessed. -K.T. Braxton

It Could Be Worse?

Telling someone "it could be worse" even if reality, can be so damaging. When we invalidate someone's pain just because "it could be worse", we do not bring healing. Instead, it brings burying which c
